The museum has two exhibitions; one with industrial history and one with toys. As well as local collections of articles for everyday use, the area's industrial history is documented in two exhibitions: Gemla's 250 year old paper-mill traditions and the toy museum showing wooden toys produced in Gemla over a period of 100 years. The paper mill of Gransholm was used between 1802 and 1979. The first toy factory in Sweden started in Gemla in 1866. The author and nobel prize winner Pär Lagerkvist has his roots in the area.
